"My Mother" by Cole Redish

Cole's teacher had his class fill out a form describing their mothers in honor of Mothers Day.  Along with a hand-decorated-by-Cole picture frame, Cole proudly gave me his form.  It reads:

My mother is:  nice.  (Awww....how sweet!)

Adjectives that describe her are:  kind and funny.  (I am raising a fine boy.)

My mother always:  lets me watch tv.  (Er...well, not THAT much tv...maybe...)

Sometimes she:  gets mad at my dad.  (Pft.  SOMEtimes???...wait, What??)

My mother really likes it when:  I'm nice.  (Ok, this is more like it.)

My mother doesnt like:  when I get bad grades.  (Um, ok.  Dude, you're 7.  You've never even had a bad grade...)

My mother makes me:  go to school.  (Sigh....)

She teaches me:  nothing.  (Oh, nice.  Nothing??!!  I'm so glad I've had such an impact on you.  Nothing??)

She wants me to:  be good.  (That's right.  Be good and go watch TV because Mommy teaches you NOTHING.)

My mother wishes that:  I wasn't weird.  (Ain't that the truth...)

My mother is:  happy.   (Yes.  Happy that I teach my child NOTHING.  Kid, you're weird.)
