Ten on Tuesday!

1.  The Shave-Off for Jack was bigger than big.  It was huger than huge.  It was EPIC!!  I get all weepy and snotty when I tell someone about it.

2.  Please pray for our friend, Shawn Hull, right now.  He is 33 and a recent daddy to his first child.  He is also in kidney failure due to diabetes and in desperate need of a kidney transplant.  He has taken a bad turn over the last few days, so please pray that he is able to get well enough to accept the dialysis he so desperately needs.  For weeks his body has been rejecting the dialysis shunt that was implanted in his arm, and he has not been able to receive dialysis as of yet.  Tonight he will be getting an emergency catheter so that he can finally receive dialysis, but this is a very dangerous procedure for someone in his condition because of the elevated risk of infection.

3.  I am home today from Arizona for the first time since Easter, and I am in a total funk.  I miss everyone so badly and am not surprised that my faithful companion, the stomach knot, has returned to its fluffy home.

4.  I have perpetual hang nails, and I noticed that Abbey does, too.  I wonder why?  Is it hereditary??  I don't know.  Maybe I'll google it.

5.  I'm reading Sleeping Arrangements by Sophie Kinsella's alternate pen, Madeleine Wickham.  It's so good and easy!  But then again, aren't all of her glorious books this way?  It's like going out to shop with a good friend, you just know you're going to have a great time no matter what happens.

6.  I have a feeling that Muse has replaced my all-time favorite band, My Chemical Romance.  I still love my MCR, but Muse.  Ahh...Muse.  Cole is on the bandwagon with me too, and we listen and sing together in the car every chance we get.

7.  I'm going to be 34 in 8 days.  GULP!  When did this happen?  When did I get this old?  I still feel like a giant idiot who bumbles my way through things, not a 34 year old woman!  Where's my suit?  My briefcase?  My corner office?  Oh, that's right.  I don't want any of that!

8.  We have the whole place to ourselves this entire week.  You know those northeast Texas winds we're having?  No, that's my sigh of relief.

9.  Do you ever feel like you can't do anything right?  That you lose things, you say the wrong thing, you make the wrong decision, you dressed for the day wrong (but it looked so cute that morning), you made wrong a turn, you ate the wrong thing for lunch, you forgot to do things...?  I don't mean for a day, but for like an entire week or month at a time?  Yeah, me too.  All the time.  And it's like a total domino effect.  And even better is when the same person notices all of your screw up's, but tries to be nice about it, like it's no big deal.  But you know they are thinking inside, "What a moron."

10.  Abbey thinks that the correct verbal abbreviation for the word "seconds" is "secs", which when spoken sounds just like "sex".  "I'll be back in two sex,"  is her favorite thing to tell me.  What the what?

So happy to hear that the Shave-Off was such a success. And, I'll be praying for your friend, too. How hard to be in his shoes.

And, that Abbs - well, she's just being Abbs!
