I'm Too Sexy For This Town

I returned last night from four fabulous days of fashion, shopping and beautiful Arizona weather. What in the heck am I DOING here???

I cannot even begin to describe how fun that was. I was on total overload the entire weekend. I swear.

We got there Thursday and after getting the rental car we headed on up to Scottsdale for lunch. We ate at a rooftop cafe in downtown. Had a crappy meal, but the weather was fantastic. Off to see Nikki for a few seconds at the Scottsdale Moody Blues (she was running around like a crazy woman, so I didn't want to bother her too much). We shopped around, drove around, ate dinner. Left Paula at the hotel after dinner and Holli and I went to Loco Patron for a drink. Didn't see any exciting action, but we laughed so hard together I thought I was going to throw up my margarita.

Friday morning was so exciting. That was the whole DAY OF FASHION. We got dressed, drove down to Chandler to see the Moody Blues down there, shopped around a bit and then headed back up to Scottsdale for the opening of Fashion Week. Paula made some great contacts there, so that was very exciting. We did nothing but shop, shop, shop that day. Paula started dragging around 3:30 - so we left her on a bench at Gainey Village shops and we kept right on shopping. We got some great deals at a little boutique that was having a "Lost Our Lease" sale. I got a great $110 t shirt for only $21!! Go me!! What was the best was the live entertainment going on in the higher end stores. They all had live DJ's in spinning and they had full bars serving free drinks. Woo Hoo!! I drank more in four days than I have in my entire life. So, we headed back to the hotel and got ready for the Moody Blues Fashion show. Got all glammed up! I rocked a short purple dress, tall boots, and layered on the necklaces. I was FAB-YOU-LOUS! I even got looked up and down TWICE by a very hot bald black guy. Normally not my bag, but goodness was he nice looking. So, that made me feel pretty darn good. We saw Nikki for a few seconds before the show started. Can I even tell you how surreal it was to see your little sister looking absolutly stunning in 5 inch heels and a killer dress RUNNING down an aisle way and hollering at some poor fool in a walkie talkie? Talk about Nikki being large and in charge! Sheesh!! So, we sat down in the fantastic second row seats that Nikki gave to us and listened to the great music the DJ was spinning for the show. The show was just great, so much energy and so much excitement. The clothes were awesome, the models were GORGEOUS. It was like looking at your dream man that just kept getting better and better. I didn't know which one was cuter than the other one. And the girls were just darling. Then they had these two guys that came out mid-show, and you just assumed they were models also, but then they busted out and started this awesome dancing down the runway - so it was like a little entertainment break. They were really great. We were right at the end of the runway, so we got to see the cute pouty faces the models made at the photographers. One male model pouted right at Holli and I thought she was going to fall off her chair in a dead faint. We got to see Laurie and Amy, also. After dropping off Paula (again) at the hotel, we came back and went with Laurie and Amy to Suede and had drinks. It was fun, sort of cold, but fun. I wish Paula would have come out with us a little bit, but oh well.

Saturday we woke up and Paula announced she didn't want to shop. Um.......ok. So we drove up to Cave Creek and I showed them the scenery and we ended up shopping up there anyway. They were totally blown away. Neither had ever seen anything like Arizona, so it was so much fun showing them around. I felt like Samantha Brown from TLC, I was such a good travel guide!! We came back to Scottsdale and ate dinner at a restaurant where each waiter and waitress was the most gorgeous person you'd ever seen in your life. It was crazy. I can't imagine the human resources department there. Or what the requirements are to even get a job there. Our waiter...oh my gosh. Oh my GOSH. He was a cutie. I got all tongue tied around him - isn't that crazy?? He was saying something to me and I honestly don't remember what he was saying, and I guess I just stared at him because he stops, smiles and says, "Did you even hear a word I said??" I wanted to die. Just die. Saturday night after dinner we dropped Paula off at the hotel...again...and went out for our last night.

Sunday after brunch we headed back to the airport and back to reality. Sniff. Sniff. And here I sit. At my computer, watching it rain outside in the gloom and doom.

Great blog! Oh I wish I could have been there. There's so much to see in just Scottsdale that it's crazy to try and fit in Cave Creek and Chandler! You really did take advantage of everything. I sure hope Nikki gets her down time this weekend. I guess she has another shindig with some player's wives tomorrow night.

Sounds perfect! So cool that you got to see Nikki in her element and that you got to see the fashion show! Your outfit sounds fab (should I take some credit for suggesting the purple dress??). When I see you this week for lunch, you better have pictures. Don't even try to tell me you didn't take any, sister. Can't wait to hear all your other stories!!!
