I gained a half a pound. How, I ask you? When in the course of 7 days, how could that be when I did the elliptical machine three times (burned an average of 350 calories), worked out with the trainer two more days with weights and watched everything that went in to my mouth. How could I have gained weight?? So a total of five days of working out and eating right all week and nothing to show for it??
Very discouraging. I went to the gym again today and will do the elliptical tomorrow, just like I'm supposed to do. I'm going to keep plugging away because I just have to believe that it will begin to pay off.
Blah.

I ask you to remember all of our conversations about weight gain at the beginning of a workout program. Do you remember the few weeks I didn't lose anything and then suddenly lost like, 5 pounds? Do you remember when Butch started his walking and didn't lose for a few weeks? Do you remember all the peppy comments you said to me? Remember that now. Keep it up, hot stuff and you will be AMAZED! It just takes time.
A couple of things, Stacey. First, muscle weighs more than fat and if you're working out, you're building muscle. Second, don't weigh yourself. You get a false read every time. Take a crap and you lose 5 pounds. Just go by how you feel and how your clothes fit. I stopped weighing myself since Thanksgiving and I'm not stressing and upset all the time over weight. You're doing the right thing and you can't help but lose. Keep at it, kiddo. For your health if nothing else.
so right on about the taking a crap and losign 5lbs. everything factors in. i go by my skinny jeans. i can tell how they fit if i'm doing a good job. i actually took a picture of my back in my skinny jeans and saw my little mini muffin top growing and was like "ew". now they fit better but i still have a ways to go :)
keep on keepin on!
