Ok, I'm following Leigh and Marie's blog instructions. List your ten favorite songs that you currently have on your iPod and why they are your favorite songs. Since I have a hot pink iPod Nano, that's what is pictured above. Honestly, I chose pink because this way I knew that Scott wouldn't steal if from me. But I digress...
The idea is to get to know people better through their favorite types music. I linked the video's to each song, so take a minute and listen to them. Maybe you'll find a new favorite!
1. Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance.
They are, by far, my favorite band. Love, love, love them. This song reminds me of forgiveness and how far people will go for it.
2. Letters to God by Boxcar Racer
This is one of those songs that when you actually listen to the lyrics, the hairs on your arms stand up. When I listen to it, I always imagine a man involved in a car crash and he's bargaining with God as to why he should stay here and not go.
3. You Give Me Love by Faith Hill
Remember this song? It was the closing song on the very last Mad About You (didn't you just love that show?). It played during a montage of video's showing Paul and Jamie together and their little girl growing up. So sweet. I found the entire scene and song on You Tube. Makes me cry watching it, just like it did the first time I saw it all those years ago...
4. Deny by Default
This song is one of those that starts out sort of slow and then explodes in your ears. It's a song about not giving up and not taking crap any more. Not to mention the lead singer is H-O-T. Sizzle!!
5. Crazy in Love by Beyonce and Jay-Z
First of all, I have a girl crush on Beyonce. She rocks. She's beautiful, she can sing, she can dance. LOOOOOOOVE her. And I've always loved this song. Makes me want to strut down the street in a pair of high heeled boots looking like a million bucks while all the men stare longingly after me, but they can't have me.
6. Con te Partiro by Andrea Bochelli and Sarah Brightman
Also called Time to Say Goodbye. Um, has anyone NOT cried when they listened to this song? I cry every time I hear it played at the Bellagio Fountains, I cry every time I play it in my car. Ugh. So beautiful and so heartbreaking. Who ever wants to say goodbye?
7. Intervention by Arcade Fire
I was up late one night watching Saturday Night Live, and saw this band perform this song. I was totally blown away. They are so fantastic. They're different, the lead singer is, well, fantastic. Very powerful song, in my opinion. This isn't the greatest recording that I could find, but it'll do.
8. Let the Bodies Hit The Floor by Drowning Pool
This is Cole's favorite song and he begs me to play it every time we go anyplace in the car. So Mommy and Cole rock out at the tops of our lungs to this little ditty. So not appropriate for a 6 year old....
9. The Way You Look Tonight by Ole Blue Eyes, Frank Sinatra
This was Scott and I's wedding song. Every time we hear it we go back to our dance. Not too long ago we were in a store and they were playing it and Scott leaned over and asked me if I noticed what song was on. We were so young (20 and 22), but thank GOD nobody talked us out of going through with it!!
10. I Don't Love You by My Chemical Romance
Here's my boys again. This song reminds me of what it was like to lose your first love. When you get to the point where you just wanted to ring him by the neck and scream at him, "Just admit it! You don't love me anymore..."
So there, my 10 favorite songs. I'm sure that after I close this blog I will remember others that I feel that I should have added instead, but oh well. Coulda shoulda woulda.

i love the pink nano. i still have the old school black one.
i love let the bodies drown the floor, especially the whispering part in the beginning. thanks for sharing!
Well, you know I'm in agreement about MCR and Andrea Bocelli. Great list!
This blog probably taught me more about you than anything else. I loved it and I plan to print it out to remind me what a sensitive, insightful and wonderful person you are. And if I had to start my 10 favorite songs on my pretend iPod, the first would by My Girl by the Temptations. It reminds me of how sweet the first love was.
