Boo Longhorns

As I knew she would, Leigh wretched violently when she saw the Longhorn hat on Cole's head in yesterdays picture. In case you don't know, Leigh and Sid graduated from Texas A&M. On A&M's admission application, there is a stipulation that all Aggies must hate all Longhorns from UT. Being that we are about to make a boatload of money off A&M for a barn, I feel obligated to pledge my alliance to the Aggies. Hopefully she will see this image of a typical Longhorn fan, and forgive us.

Not much exciting happened yesterday, so I really don't have much to say. I met Lindsay for lunch at Panera - mmmmm, Panera - went to my hateful workout, came home and read. After said hateful workout, I came home and found that Abbey had been taken on a little shopping trip and was sporting new Dora Crocs and a matching Dora purse stuffed full of her little "babies". A baby to Abbey is anything that she can hold or that is stuffed. She refused to take her "Do-wah shoose" off for her nap and she threw a fit when they had to come off at night to go to bed. As soon as she woke up, the shoose had to go right back "off". For her off means on. And it also means off. Confusing, I know. Cole had been to a cow sale with Butch and two of Butch's friends, and he was all excited to tag along. He told PaPa after he was there about three hours that, "My eyes hurt from watching these bulls", so Dusty offered to bring him home (it was about an hour away). He had a ball riding with Dusty in his truck and I think Dusty enjoyed it as much as Cole did. Kids chased and hollered at each other all night until bedtime. Abbey thinks its hysterical to shriek as loudly as possible about every thirty seconds. This lasted over two hours - I'm not kidding. It was funny at first, and then you wanted to stick a meat thermometer in your ear after about five minutes. I don't ever have to worry about anyone grabbing her because people south of Dallas will hear her holler.

As you know, I'm reading Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella. It's just too funny, as I knew it would be. You can pretty much guarantee her books to be entertaining and great time-passers. Read them, if you've never.

I'm anxiously awaiting the release of Breaking Dawn on August 1st at midnight. That's book number four in the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer - ie the greatest author EV-ER. If any of you haven't read them yet - and I know most of you haven't - you have to read them!! Then you will understand why I'm so freakishly obsessed with these books! Then we will have something to talk about. Then you can bug your friends to read it and be just as annoying as I am.

Tonight we're going to a BBQ at Gayle's house, so I'll blow any hopes of having a calorie conscious dinner. We're having ribs and everything that goes with it. Ugh. I already feel bloated and I haven't even eaten yet.

I don't hate ALL longhorns. The guy in your photo is H-O-T. I would be his friend, no doubt about it.
