Why is Abbey Trying to Eat the Rain?

We actually got some rain yesterday afternoon! We were hoping for a downpour, but we got a nice steady light rain that lasted about an hour or so. I opened up the front door to let the smell in - hoping to disguise poopy diaper in the trash smell - and Abbey promptly pushed open the screen door and marched out into the rain. She was so darn cute with her whispy hair all wet and matted to her head, so I snapped a few pictures (see slide show), and then I talked Cole into coming outside on the porch with us. He was having his own "movie theater" in the play room with the blinds closed, lights off and a bowl of popcorn watching Snow Buddies. I promised him that I have the ability to pause a movie and he can continue right where he left off, so he agreed to come on out. Of course being a typical guy, he immediately walks to the edge of the porch and pees. What is it with that? Don't you guys realize that we do have indoor plumbing?? Well he peed, and then Skeeter walked in his pee stream, so Skeeter got peed on. Of course Cole thought that was the funniest thing EVER, and poor Skeeter just walked away, totally humiliated. So, anyway I coaxed Cole into going out into the rain to try and get him wet, too. He was so funny, asking a million questions, "Why isn't the rain cold?", "Why is Abbey trying to eat the rain?", "Is it going to flood?", "What makes thunder?", etc. I feel pretty stupid saying, "I don't know," but I don't know! Maybe he'll be a weather man and he can explain it all to me one day. But I hope he dresses better than the schmucks we have on Channel 12. Good God, somebody send in a stylist, please.

Kids got soaked playing in the rain, but they also got tired. It was a nice early night. And the best part? I didn't have to cook AGAIN! Jackie and Butch were in Plano having eye appointments and they brought us back Chipotle salads. Mmmmm, Chipotle.

This morning Scott drove me to pick up my car in Gainesville. We had some tire issues that were being fixed, and I asked him if he would mind stopping at Starbucks. Mmmmmm, Starbucks. So he did, and since he was driving he ordered at the drive thru. Well, he HATES ordering for me at the drive thru because I holler what I want and then he says it different than I do, so I holler the correct way to say it. Then he tries his best to copy me, but still leaves out key words of the order. So I put in my coffee order - which was relayed correctly - and then I decided to add a piece of that yummy reduced fat blueberry coffee cake. So I told him, "add me a blueberry..." and he cut me off and ordered a blueberry muffin. No! So I said, "no, a blueberry COFFEE cake". He obviously didn't hear me right because he ordered me a "blueberry fluffy cake". Oh my god, I am still laughing over it. We laughed so hard, I'm sure the girl in the speaker thought we were trying to be obnoxious to her. She had no sense of humor when we got to the window. As Abbey says, Oh me! Poor Scott, I keep singing and texting him that song from a Philly Cream Cheese commercial, "You're my lee-tle fluffy one...". Bless him, he's so funny just acting like his normal self. And no, I'm not making fun of you - so quit reading my blogs and saying I'm mean to you. You know you're my favorite Starbucks fluffy cake orderer.
