First Date

Friends of ours invited Cole to go to the Ft Worth zoo with them and their adorable 5 year old granddaughter, Anna, today. I had to drop him off at their house at 8:30 this morning, and Cole was just vibrating with excitement. We got a lucky break from the weather and it's supposed to be about 15 degrees cooler today with overcast skies. Perfect day for the zoo!! Anna is so flipping cute and Scott and I have Cole married off to her in 20 years. She's just a little squirt - as you can see in their little picture. Excuse the cruddy cell phone pic. And Leigh - shield your eyes from his Longhorn hat. He just likes it because it's a cow - that's all!!

Driving down to their house was a treat in itself. Cole is a music-aholic like Scott and I are and is a major fan of my favorite band, My Chemical Romance, so we rocked out together to their songs. It always amazes me how he actually knows the words to the songs and he sings along making his best passionate rock star face. He was chattering away, saying his usual "Cole things" that always make me do a double take, or else make me hide my laughter so that he won't stop. He was asking me if Anna and Hannah (his other girlfriend) would be there, and I told him it was just Anna and he mutters, "Oh cramp". I thought did he say cramp or crap? So I asked, what did you say? He replies, "I got a sore leg so I said, 'Oh cramp', I didn't say the Daddy word." Ok, I can't leave that alone, "What's a Daddy word?" "A Daddy word is a bad word that Daddy's always say." Okey dokey, just wanted to clarify!

We got down there to their house and Larry, grandpa, opened the door as soon as we pulled up with his video camera going. He filmed Cole coming out of the car and walking up their walk. Paula said that he'd been filming Anna, who they have for two weeks, ever since she opened up her eyes this morning. He said he's making the documentary of the year - A day at the zoo, by Anna and Cole.

Did you know they have bats at zoo? ;-)

Can't wait to hear about it!

Do NOT let me forget Coley's present tomorrow. I should have let you take it home that day.
