TGIF!

Ugh. What a freakin day. So Thursday afternoon I had to cancel a planned sushi outing for today with my Leigh-Leigh because I had forgotten about a hair appointment I already had at 1 PM. Then yesterday evening I found out that we had to have a bid submitted by 2 PM today for this over the top barn we're bidding on. So I scrambled all morning and finally at 12:45 I gave up and called to cancel my hair appointment or else I wouldn't have made the deadline. I'm still waiting on my window and door package price to come in, and it's looking like this guy ain't going to be on my good side a whole lot longer if he doesn't get me my flipping price in 12 minutes. Why can't anyone just do what they're supposed to do?? Like me? I canceled with both Leigh and Mary (my hair genius) in a 24 hour span. I suck.

Then Scott went to Austin an hour ago to meet with a customer, so now I'm a weekend widow until tomorrow night. And of course, do I have a book to read? NOPE! Well, I do. Mom gave me Atonement to read while we were in Destin and I just cannot bring myself to start it. See, she's into the whole Tuesday's with Morrie/The Five People you meet in Heaven type of books. Those are just too depressing for me. I need a funny main character or a hot guy or something I can relate to. Like vampires, for instance.

So looking forward to the long weekend. I need a vacation. It's been just ages since I've had one. Talk about burned out. Phew.

Cole survived his first week of 1st grade. I still really like his teacher (so does he) and I'm still not liking the football gang of coaches.

This morning Abbey had a tough time deciding what shoes to wear with her outfit. I strapped her into a pink pair of Teva look a likes and when I put her down, she instantly saw her hot pink Dora Crocs and started screeching, "Udder oneths!". So I started to take off the first pair to put the udder oneth's on and she screeched even louder, "Nooooo!!! Ees oneth's", while pointing at the first pair. Make up your mind, diva. Mommy's running out of patience.

Update on Chipotle King: He survived the night with no issues. He also forgot to mention that he had eaten there the previous day for lunch. So folks, that's four steak burritos in two days. I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Read something you already have! Almost always a good book is better the second time around.

Abbey the Diva - LOVE it! Someday when she's a rich and famous fashionista, I'll tell all the tabloids that I was there the day she was born. And perhaps I'll lie and say I used to sit her on my lap and read to her from Vogue and Elle.

And Cole will call me up from his beach house in Malibu and holler at me for exploiting his litte sister.

Atonement is a beautiful, well written, heart wrenching and amazing book. It is not Tuesdays with Morrie, I promise. It's a love story about the power of words and eternal regret. Sigh. I loved it. I love all that British period stuff. I was born in the wrong time period, in the wrong country.
