Ike

I don't personally know anyone in the immediate path of Ike, but I know friends of friends in the way and I hope that everyone makes it through this alright.

We did get news last night that Laurie's husband, Zac, was to be sent off to Houston early this morning. He's an electrical lineman and expects to be on the job helping to restore power for at least four weeks, maybe eight weeks. While this isn't exactly the news Laurie was looking forward to - not seeing her husband for weeks - this is exactly what they need financially. So, everyone please say a little prayer to keep Zac and his crew safe.

The idiotic powers that be in Whitesboro decided to cancel Cole's football game today. We were so irritated. It's cloudy outside, folks! The rain wasn't ever supposed to be here till late in the evening anyway. Just stupid. Cole was so upset about it - he was really looking forward to this.

I felt bad about Cole's day getting ruined, so I took the kids to the Gainesville Zoo this morning. We had a ball, spend most of the time strolling under the umbrella in a light rain, but it was all good. The animals were all out and very active with the cooler weather and the rain.

Tonight is date night. Woo hoo! Even though Scott is a MAJOR crab today - so hopefully he'll get over it and we can have a nice evening. Even if it's supposed to be pouring down rain.
