Laurie sent this to me this afternoon. I'm sure her heart fell to her feet when she saw it. Geez Louise!! He said he's 68 feet in the air. I'm dizzy just thinking about it. Oye.
On a total side note...a friend of ours named Paula came into the office yesterday for a visit. She asked if I would show her the vacant space next to us (we recently built our office building and we occupy one of the three spaces). I showed it to her and asked what she was wanting to look at it for. She says that she's wanting to open up an upscale boutique. Wow, I said! Then she started talking about Nikki's store that she works at, how much she loves their web site and their unique store and I started telling her about all of the fabulous shopping and specialty stores that are all over Scottsdale. She's never been there, she said, but that's what she's wanting to bring here. Different, unique, NICE stuff. Next door to my office. A dozen steps from my office door will be shoes....purses.....cute jeans......accessories...I'm starting to hyperventilate, I need to get a grip. She looks around and decides that she wants to take both spaces - even better! More stuff to fill up the space, I think. But the bestest part??? She called me this morning and asked me to go WITH HER to Scottsdale Fashion Week. GO WITH HER. I swear my heart stopped when she asked me. She said that she would love to talk to Nikki, get some ideas, visit tons of stores to get ideas. Her husband ownes what I believe is the largest scuba gear supply in the world - and it's in Dallas (not an ocean around and he rocks the scuba world from Dallas..go figure). Anyway, he has an enormous online store and people fly him literally all over the world to teach them how to run retail and online stores. She said that when he opened up his new location they visited tons of stores in other states to get a feel of what works, what doesn't, ideas on layout, etc. So, she's got his genius retail brain behind her, and his money - which will help.
But lets revisit that little key bit of information...She wants me to go WITH HER to Scottsdale Fashion Week. Oh, and I've got a zillion frequent flyer miles, so I'll get the tickets and the hotel rooms, she adds. My mind is all a flutter. What will I wear? I have to lose 10 pounds. What will I wear? It's November 6 - 9 (Oh April, here I come!!) and I swear I'll need every bit of time to get ready. I need to cram the fashion magazines for what is in and out for this season. I can't very well show up to a show looking like last year. I need to treat this like an SAT exam. I need to prepare.
Anyone who wishes to join me for my first study group at Nordstrom this weekend is welcome!!

Wall Street Journal has a new magazine and it has pictures of very very cool clothing and accessories and articles on what's "in" in fashion. The name of the magazine is WSJ. Check it out. You are going to have way too much fun in Scottsdale. I'm pea green right now.
First of all, Zac is insane and heroic all at the same time.
Second of all, so so so excited for your trip to Scottsdale. I know how much you miss Laurie, Nikki and Arizona! And could find a better travel partner than Paula (not counting me, of course)? She is like a spunky ray of sunshine and I have zero doubts she will be a huge success with her new store.
As for what to wear...do they make dresses like you bought today for Abbey in adult sizes? You would be smashing in that poofy gold ball gown, complete with sparkly purse and mask. I bet you'd be in all the magazines.
